Bereavement Support Groups
Bereavement Support Groups will begin in the morning and evening on Tuesday, September 9th. Both groups will run for eight consecutive Tuesdays respectively. Please call 201-891-1122 ext 266 for more information and to register in advance.
St. Elizabeth’s Bereavement Ministry is an out-reach to men and women of all faiths who are experiencing the pain and loss of a loved one through death. The ministry is comprised of facilitators who have suffered their own losses and are united in their overwhelming desire to bring comfort and support to others who are grieving. Each member has completed a training program at the Archdiocesan Center in Newark and is certified as a Bereavement Support Group Facilitator.
The Ministry offers Bereavement Nights and Bereavement Support Groups that provide:
* A safe place where emotional needs are met and the pain of loss is understood in a confidential environment.
* Information for those coping with loss.
* Compassion and hope to nurture the spiritual and emotional needs of those on their grief journey.
Support groups are offered in the spring and fall and run for 8 weeks on consecutive Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings. There is also an open Bereavement Night on the first Wednesday of each month from September through June.
